I decided to start this threat so that I can get to know my fellow Otaku in the abyss community. So if you love anime you've come to the right place in this forum. Here i will discuss the differences in manga and anime adaptations to who was the cutest cat girl in a series thus far. For people not in the know and might wanna know what anime is all about take a gander here in the future. Read this thread and i'm sure one day you'll know what things moette(typicaly shortened to moe),tsundere, and ecchi are. Or what the heck is a harem anime!?

So my brothers and sisters i'd like to hear what your favorite shows are. Discuss current story trends, complain about how naruto:shippuden is 40% filler or talk about art style. Also i'll try each week to give a rundown on a series or genre. For those of you that don't have the time to keep up on things or are just not sure what to watch I hope I can give you some good ideas.

Ok to get the ball rolling i am going to introduce for your viewing pleasure a fantasy/action anime. For those of you familiar with "Claymore" you will probably agree with me that this is an entertaining show. This was originaly started as a manga in the monthly shonen jump I think(correct me if i'm wrong). Currently Claymore is a 94 chapter manga and is still an ongoing story the anime adaptation ran as a two season twenty-six episode show. All six volumes have been dubbed and are out in english if you were unaware. If you find this show appealing and want to keep up with the manga new chapters are usualy translated in the first week of the month. So for all your viewing pleasure here is a Claymore AMV, the song is "I would stay" by Krezip with the music remix done by scott brown. Enjoy!

That show is a great one, the episode with the spoiled food is the best one. Tho the mushroom episode is up there to plus the series as a great ending.

Good stuff! I've actualy had Rozen maiden on the back burner of my watch list for quite awhile. With some of the shorter shows ending soon this season I thnk I might actualy get around to watching it lol. Haven't seen zombie loan but i'll have to look it up, Beck was a great show and so was gunslinger girl. Not sure if you were aware since you said you haven't watched in awhile but there is a second season of Gunslinger girl.

I have heard of it, and I've begun to watch it but I cant find ANY episodes AT ALL. AND PLEASE PUT ROZEN MAIDEN ON THE FRONT BURNER. It's so good. It is girly but like it's funny, with serious tones, god action, and season 3 finale (Season 1, Overture, Season 2: Traumend) made me cry for days. So watch it. I love it

"He who conquers the left side conquers the world chief." My favorite quote from FLCL. lol

And Thomas i'm sure i'll love Rozen maiden, no shame in likeing the "girly" stuff as you put it. I myself watch every genre thats out there, romantic comedys, dramas you name it I watch it at some point lol. On that note i'll put this show out there for you all to check out "Aria: the animation" It's the story of a young girl that travels to mars, wich has been terraformed into a water planet. The story takes place in neo-venice and is her tale of how she becomes an Undine(or water guide). It's a very pleasant show, for me was a breath of fresh air at the time I watched it. Since I had just come off of watching shows like Elfen Lied(probably one of the darkest animes out there) and Black Lagoon.

I've been rewatching Full Metal Alchemist lately.

Looks like some good series listed so far.

Anyone else <3 FMA as much as I do?

I went to Heaven but couldn't get in, for all that I've done; I said "Forsake me!" He said "You crazy? You were too much fun!"

I am indeed an FMA fan, if you haven't seen the movie yet it bridges the 1st and second season of FMA. FYI there is a new season of FMA that is currently ongoing. So FMA fans rejoyce the Elric brothers are off on a new set of adventures.

Best FMA AMV I've seen. Even though it includes a lot of others, too.

I've got a few series of Anime, although I'm more into .hack// than anything else.

LOL, Great amv. I've started my day with a chuckle thanks to that one. Before I head out to work this morning I got a new series I started checking out. Well two actualy one being a manga. First up, "Bakemonogatari" caught the first ep. My initial impressions of this one were good. Great visual presentation to this one, so far the characters have been pretty interesting. The show falls under the Supernatural/action category. It's the tale of a boy suffering from vamprism thats saves a girl from falling down a stairwell. And from that point the story begins, again I only saw the first ep I'll give a more solid yay or nay about this one after i've seen some more.

"Go! Tenba Cheerleaders." Ok if you love your Highschool, romantic, comedy, ecchi, harem manga. This one is for you, twelve chapters of this one are subbed at the moment. I found this one to be very well drawn. Also the ecchi moments and fan service are not over the top. Wich to me a good thing as many mangas tend to over-sell that aspect.

My wife and I have stumbled upon this site
http://www.theanimereview.com/

and have been renting any animes on the A+ rating list that we can from Netflix (not all of them are available.) Once we finish the A+'s we're headed to the A's

As for my favorites in Anime, pretty much anything from Studio Gibili. My favorite is Spirited Away. My wife's is Castle in the Sky
I am a warrior, I am a merchant; and not always in that order. Shugo blood flows in my veins.
