Dragon Age: Origins

1. Six different openings and numerous endings. Now the multiple endings thing bioware has always done with their RPG's and they do a fantastic job with them. Even better in dragon age is based upon your race/class there are six different opening storys to the game. They do an amazeing job sucking you into the story of dragon age by doing this. Also with each variation the world reacts differently to your character based on these choices.
2. Lore, this game has an amazeing ammount of lore in it and it's all quite good. Dwarves are a bit more blood thirsty and backstabbing, elves are nationless and live in the shadows of human society however bands of roaming free elves exist. Mages are locked up by the church and watched day and night for signs of taint.
3. Design, first I will say this is not the prettyest game. However you will marvel at the wide open plains of the bannor, delve into the decaying deep roads so many wonderful places to visit!
4. Characters, bioware has always been great with their characters and their only getting better. It was hard for me to choose who I wanted to bring with in my group since I wanted to hear and see what everyone of them did lol. Those of you that have played dragon age and have the download-able content will probably agree with me when I say. Shale is full of win.
my gripes about this game.
1. If your playing this one the 360 due to the controllers limitations your hampered slightly. Mainly since you can only hotkey 6 moves at a time. The interface works very well however.
2. Minor glitches such as dialogue being repeated twice or on certain npc's the game loves to auto-save continuously untill you stand there for a minute and let the guy speak.
3. in the 360 version it takes loot drops forever to appear sometimes. I'm talking over a minute so I end up moveing on clearing an area then comeing back so I don't end up standing around after every group of darkspawn I kill.
Now go forth and enjoy this fantastic game.

You must have played a different game than I my friend. Lip syncing in any game is never 100% on.

This is also the first Bioware game, the first rpg and one of the few games out there, to my knowledge, that properly integrates same-gender relationships as 'normal' , and not just female-female. Your character can meet and romance various people along the course of the story (if you so choose), without much limitation (although Alistair is str8, which is a shame cos i totally have a crush on him), something that was lacking in Mass Effect, but then the Asari romance scene caused such a fuss, I'm sure fox news is freaking out over Dragon Age.
It's a very very awesome game, I just can't decide on my 'main' for my first complete playthrough.. a Rogue Duelist, a Templar, or a Mage Spirit Healer.. either way.. I shall flirt with all the hot guys as much as I can.
I can't wait for Mass Effect 2

I love you too... there.. it feels good to say it in the open.
I also recently learned that there is a male character you can meet who becomes part of your team, and he will hit on and flirt with everyone. This means str8 dudes, with dude characters getting hit on by a male character in a videogame... hahahah justice.
And to Wolf, its not an mmo, but it is an rpg. It's an mmo without all the other people, and your 'group/party' is made up of NPC characters that you meet and interact with as you progress. There are classes, races, talents, skills, crafting etc. Its a single player mmorpg.
They also said they plan to release new content for the game for the next two years, which is nice.

And for you north a side note on the releationships in game.
LOL this is for those into multiple partners. If you are female and have had alistair fall in love with you, once you go to his sisters house based upon your speach you will change alistairs personality slightly. In doing so it will slightly change his reactions from here on out also it enables you to go down to the whore house in denerim and talk issabella one of the girls into haveing a threesome. You have to change alistair personality for him to agree to this. This option is only available to female characters I think. Haven't tried bringing morrigan or lelianna there.
Zheran- he's Bi and will hop in the sack at the drop of a hat, little wooing or work require, and will accept the threesome with no qualms.
Morrigan- She likes only men so if you want a shot at her you have to be a guy. You'll know she's interested when you go to the party camp and when you speak with her she starts the conversation with this phrase. "Tis a curious thing, I do not know how to describe it." that is your cue and the following chat will make or break your relationship. Note when you share a tent with her it will only happen once. She's a one night stand kinda gal.
Leliana- She is the hardest to woo as you need to have her happines with your character at 100% to even initiate a romantic relationship. She is also the hardest one to seduce, more so if your a woman.
And on a side note, I beat the game as a Female Elf magi, Arcane warrior/spirit healer spec. This was done in an effort to see how the world treated a character with so many negatives. Due to my race an low birth I was amazed at how people treated me. And it wasnt' very well lol my race and gender were insulted several times by various npc's in every town. wich also made persuasion a harder thing to accomplish.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the game thus far, but calling it Biowares best RPG yet may be going just a tad too far.
The animations are complete shit, sorry to put it that bluntly but they are. It's 2009, wake the fuck up Bioware, the graphics are, to put it simply, bad, bows don't even have strings on them. Play through the Dalish origin and tell me that's not lazy, or at the very leas very immersion breaking. The hands, oh my God the HANDS are terrible, they are boxy and don''t even touch items half the time, you can even see this in the cinematics.
I also have an issue with zero-day DLC. Yes, I understand that it was created by different teams but this is becoming a trend with EA games (read: The Sims 3), it makes it look like you cut content from the primary game to sell to us later. On the same topic, are they reqally putting NPC's into the fucking game trying to sell me the DLC, really? This is an RPG, you are supposed to get into it be your character, and when some douche comes running up to me in my camp all "Help me good sir, we must reclaim blahblahblah" only for the conversation to lead me to "We shale embark at once! [Buy Content]" and takes you out of game to the purchase page I have a major issue, you really could not have broke my immersion more.
i'm not even gong to go into the hell that was actually getting the promised content if you purchased a digital copy (you were supposed to be emailed both the game key and the key for the DLC, blood armor ect). Lets just say that if you purchased your game on the day it came out, and you just got your keys today, you should consider yourself lucky.
Regardless, in the normal Bioware fashion they did a good job with the story and characters, I found myself becoming truly attached to both Alistair and Leliana, hell I even really liked Morrigan in a slightly twisted way.

As for DLC content yeah it's horrible they make ya pay for mini-expansions in games these days. However for a good game or one I find enjoyable I have no qualms shelling out the odd five bucks. Btw the wardens keep thing is pretty alright gives you a dungeon and a new mini-town with a pimp weapon and armor vendor. And from a lore point of view adds some more backstory into the histoy of the grey wardens. So can't say i'm not happy for haveing it.
And several of the characters are very endearing. I liked morrigan a lot lol and shale the DLC guy(got him free with my pre-order). Also I love the random party banter sometimes.

My issue is not DLC in general, it is ZAERo-DAY DLC, DLC released the exact same time the game is released. And wardens keep would have been worth it IF the keep stayed open.

I just hope future DLC will be on par with the stuff they release for games like fallout 3. Biowares' DLC for games too date is rather questionable mass effect really hurt their image when it comes to that kinda thing.
